• Brisk.oi (Netherlands): Brisk.oi provides JavaScript libraries which make front end development faster.
• Capsule.fm (Norway/Germany): An online content-aggregation, personalized radio software application for iOS. It’s like an audio Flipboard.
• Fourscan (France): A real-time, gamified, loyalty program driving brand advocacy and improving customer insight on social media.
• frestyl (Italy/US): Frestyl is a place for fans, artists, promoters and venues to talk about live music that matters to them. They’re Yelp for concerts.
• ItsPlatonic (US): ItsPlatonic.com is a relationship site like Match.com but for friendship instead of romance.
• Liquid State (Australia/France): Liquid State is a fast, simple and easy-to-use publishing solution for authors and publishers to produce free-form mobile publications.
• Raidarrr (US): A location-based content discovery and distribution service, like a combination of geocaching+Stumbleupon.
• Streetvite (UK): Streetvite saves event promoters time and money by helping their events spread through social networks.
• Weavly (Austria): Offers a portal to create and share video mashups online – without uploads, downloads or copyright issues.
• Webcred (US): Enables people to rent, share, and sell safely and efficiently by building trust in peer to peer marketplaces.
The participants will arrive in Berlin on 3rd September to begin the intensive, three month Startupbootcamp programme that will prepare them for Investor Day on 27 November. During this event the start-ups will have the opportunity to present themselves in front of a large group of (angel) investors to attract funding.
Alex Farcet, founder of Startupbootcamp, is very excited with the ten participants. “Many people think that the most important thing for starting up a company and growing it successfully is a great idea. This is definitely true to an extent and we are very enthusiastic about the ideas that have been presented to us during Startupbootcamp in 2 days. More important however than a great idea is a great team to further develop the original idea and turn it into reality. That’s also what makes these selection events so great. After reviewing hundreds of business ideas we’ve finalised the 20 most promising ideas and are so inspired by them. The whole Startupbootcamp team is looking forward to helping the ten participants along their way to see how they shape and re-shape their business during the programme in order to make it successful.”
